Photographers, filmmakers, video editors, colorists, 3D/VFX artists, graphic designers, animators, game developers, and other creatives are especially particular about the monitors they use. Their work demands features like high resolution, wide color gamut, true blacks, ultra-high contrast, HDR support, precise color calibration, and high refresh rates. While different tasks may call for different types of monitors, ASUS wants to simplify that decision with just one professional OLED monitor – the ASUS ProArt Display OLED (PA32UCDM).

As the name suggests, the ASUS ProArt Display OLED is a professional-grade monitor designed for professional content creators. As for something that will be used by designers, this monitor is designed very well. It features a metal chassis that gives it a minimalist yet sophisticated look, but at the same time contributes to heat dissipation. It’s also heavy so be careful when setting it up or moving it around.

The Quick-Release Ergonomic Stand allows the 8mm thin display to tilt and pivot, as well as let you adjust the height. The display also supports VESA 100 x 100 mm mounts should you prefer it mounted on a wall or arm. The base is also as minimalist as it can be. It seems like a simple metal plate but a perfect placement for our Mac mini M4.

Found below the screen is a small module that houses the proximity sensor, which automatically decrease brightness when it detects that you’ve moved away, and the ambient light sensor, which synchronizes display brightness and color temperature with environment light changes.

Found behind that module are buttons to help you navigate through the OSD. Also found here at the back are the ports which includes dual Thunderbolt 4 USB-C ports, HDMI 2.1, and USB 3.2 Gen2 hub.

Given the 31.5-inch QD-OLED 4K HDR panel with 240Hz refresh rate, 1000 nits peak brightness with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400, 100% sRGB, 99% DCI-P3 and BT, and 178 degree viewing angle. 2020 color gamut, as expected, this display is exceptional. As an ordinary user, the ASUS ProArt Display OLED is, hands-down, one of the best monitors I’ve ever tested and is more than enough for my tasks, but if you’re professional, I think you’ll be glad of the features packed in this monitor.

To start with, the ASUS ProArt Display OLED (PA32UCDM) have cinema-grade 99% DCI-P3 color gamut with True 10-bit color depth, 1,000,000:1 Native Contrast Ratio, a 0.1ms response time, and Smart HDR with HDR Preview. The display is also calibrated at the factory to guarantee color accuracy. It also includes an Auto Brightness Limiter (ABL) that dims bright images as window size
increases and an optional Uniform Brightness function in the OSD menu maintains consistent brightness up to 250 nits when switching or resizing windows with different contrast levels, which preserves color accuracy while maintaining comfortable viewing even after prolonged use.

Those who want to tinker with the calibration further, it will work with the ASUS ProArt Hardware Calibration tool or use third-party calibrators like the Calman and Light Illusion ColourSpace CMS. If you want to go native, the ASUS ProArt Display OLED (PA32UCDM) provides 15 modes or presets, accessible via the OSD, to suit the needs of any content creator.

Other features include QuickFit Plus for real-time previews, Blue Light Filter, Flicker-Free technology, and Picture-in-Picture (PiP) and Picture-by-Picture (PbP) modes so you can view two different inputs simultaneously with 2 color engines.

At PHP 110,000, the ASUS ProArt Display OLED (PA32UCDM) is definitely not for the average user. It’s expensive, yes—but it’s also not built for casual use. This monitor is made for professionals who need more than just a good-looking screen. We’re talking about accurate color out of the box with factory calibration, true 10-bit color, 99% DCI-P3 coverage, and deep blacks thanks to the OLED panel. HDR content also looks exactly how it should with VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certification, and the 240Hz refresh rate is a rare bonus for creatives who also work on motion or game content. On top of that, features like Uniform Brightness, ProArt calibration tools, and the dual Thunderbolt 4 ports show how focused this is on serious workflows.
ASUS clearly isn’t aiming this at hobbyists—they’re targeting professionals who know how to make the most of what this display can do. If that sounds like you, the PA32UCDM is worth considering.
