ASUS Marshmallow Keyboard KW100

Aside from laptops, monitors, and PC components, ASUS is also known for its keyboards, but mostly under the ROG and TUF gaming brands, so it’s exciting to see it release a wireless portable keyboard with pleasing color options. It even has a cute name, the ASUS Marshmallow Keyboard KW100, aligning with other Marshmallow products like the MD100.

Ultra-thin wireless keyboards are no longer new. One of the most popular models is the Logitech K380. The Marshmallow Keyboard KW100 has the same appeal—eye-catching, youthful, and playful—but offers a bit more.

The KW100 is mostly made of plastic, since you want to keep it light. At 374.8g, it’s easy to lug around, but it still has a nice heft to it. It only measures 1.84cm, so it can easily fit inside a bag. Despite the slim and light build, it feels solid, meaning the insides don’t feel hollow and there’s almost no flex even if you press down hard on it.

The keys and the keyboard itself are textured, which is effective in repelling smudges and oils. ASUS says that it has up to a 10-million-click lifespan and uses UV coating for added longevity. I like the squarish scissor keys as they’re large and don’t feel cramped. The 1.6mm key travel makes it comfortable to type on and feels similar to a laptop keyboard. It also has a built-in kickstand if you want some ergonomics. And thanks to the built-in silent foam layer, it is quiet, firm, and soft when you bottom out.

The KW100 is powered by three AAA batteries, which can last up to 2 years. We’re yet to prove that claim, though, but we recommend switching it off when not in use via the switch underneath to further preserve battery life.

It uses Bluetooth 5.0 for connectivity and is capable of quickly switching between three devices. It also features two system switch keys to toggle between Windows, ChromeOS, macOS, iOS, and iPadOS modes.

The ASUS Marshmallow Keyboard KW100 has an SRP of PHP 3,995, although some official online shops offer it at a discounted price. It is a great addition to your arsenal of productivity keyboards. You can keep this in your backpack and use it as a partner for your tablet or smartphone, then just take it out whenever you want to be productive. Place it on your lap or a café table; it will work just fine. My only gripe is that it only comes in two colors for now: Oat Milk and Green Tea Latte. Although the ASUS website shows white and pink options, we’ll just have to wait for them if you prefer those.
