GIGABYTE AORUS FO27Q3 OLED Gaming Monitor

Date

27-inch gaming monitors nowadays are built differently. They are equipped with better panels, higher resolutions, smoother refresh rates, and tons of features to improve gameplay. The AORUS FO27Q3 OLED is one of those monitors and also boasts “a suite of built-in, tactical assistance features”.

The AORUS FO27Q3 OLED’s design is what I’d consider ergonomic but with a mix of minimalist and futuristic. The monitor itself features clean lines with thin bezels. The stand, on the other hand, has a monolithic structure with a cut-out design in the middle. All of that is held together by a wide angular base. The design allows the screen to be swiveled up to -20/+20 degrees, pivot up to 90 degrees for a vertical setup, and tilt up to -5/+20 degrees. The height is also adjustable at up to 130mm.

View it from the back and you’ll see its gaming DNA. We have aggressive angles that look like the rear of a sports car when viewed from the top side, as well as RGB lighting.

Found underneath the monitor are the joystick and two buttons to control the screen resolution, built-in KVM, and turn the monitor on/off. We also have a wide array of ports which includes two HDMI 2.1, a DP 1.4, USB Type-C (DP Alt.), USB Type-B (upstream), two USB Type-A, mic and headphone ports, and DC Power. It also has two 5W speakers which sound great and better than the ones found in most gaming laptops.

The 27-inch 2560 x 1440(QHD) screen has a glossy finish but is good at reducing glare. It uses Samsung’s QD-OLED panel, producing excellent contrast, wide viewing angles, and vibrant yet accurate colors with DCI-P3 99% color gamut, and supports VESA Certified DisplayHDR True Black 400. If you’re going to use it for editing photos and videos or just regular productivity tasks, this monitor can do the job.

When it’s time to game, the AORUS FO27Q OLED boasts 0.03ms response time, up to 360Hz refresh rate, supports AMD FreeSync Premium Pro, and VESA Certified ClearMR 13000. If you’re the type who’s into competitive FPS games, this monitor features a Tactical Switch to let you quickly swap to a 24-inch resolution. All you need to do is press one of the buttons under the screen. Other features include Night Vision for low-light conditions; Game Assist tools like Timer, Crosshairs, and PIP/PBP, and Black Equalizer 2.0 for improved detail of deeper blacks. If you need to access more features, just navigate the OSD menu using the multi-directional joystick.

Another main feature of the AORUS FO27Q OLED is the Gigabyte OLED Care which uses an AI-based to minimize the risks of burn-in issues. It consists of 6 main features (Pixel Clean, Static Control, Pixel Shift, APL Stabilize, Sub-logo Dim, and Corner Dim) and runs automatically without affecting user experience. In addition, Gigabyte is offering a premium 3-year warranty including coverage for panel burn-in.

Overall, the AORUS FO27Q OLED is the kind of high-end monitor that just has plenty to offer. A normal user can easily use it, enjoy the quality, and not have to worry about anything. But put it in the hands of a gamer and all these features are just there, ready to be utilized. However, you have to have deep pockets for this as it costs PHP 57,995 (https://s.shopee.ph/3VQvbhpoMr). It’s a serious monitor for serious gamers.
