ROG Falchion RX Low Profile Wireless Gaming Keyboard

Date

ROG’s newest addition to its Falchion line of compact wireless gaming keyboards is the ROG Falchion RX Low Profile. This 65% keyboard is equipped with ROG RX low-profile optical switches and features like the ability to connect to three devices simultaneously and multi-function touch control. If you’re looking for a first low-profile keyboard that you can use for work and play or want to add a new keyboard to your collection, this one is worthy of consideration.

One of the things that made me like the ROG Falchion RX Low Profile right away is that it includes a protective cover. And it’s not just any cheap plastic. It’s thick and solid, and you can use it as a base for the keyboard when in use.

For the keyboard itself, as the company stated, yes, it’s compact but needs to be emphasized because even though it’s using a 65% layout, they managed to fit it inside a 60% frame. It’s slim at 26.5 mm but there are low-profile keyboards in the market that are slimmer than that. It weighs 595 g which is light but still has decent heft which can be attributed to the metal frame. It’s also ergonomic thanks to two pairs of keyboard feet.

Moving to the keys, it uses ROG UV-coated ABS keycaps that have good shine resistance. Under those are the ROG RX Low-Profile Optical Switches that come with lubricated stems, stabilizers, and springs. You can choose between two variants: Red for a linear and swift feel, and Blue for clicky and speedy. The variant we got uses Blue switches which have an actuation point of 1.5 mm and tactile force of 55 gf (versus 1.0mm and 40 gf in Red).

It’s been a while since I’ve used Blue switches and have been accustomed to mechanical linears, but so far the experience is satisfying. The clicks are crisp and snappy, and the acoustics are clean and not too distracting which we can probably attribute to the integrated sound dampening which consists of two layers of integrated silicone dampening foam underneath.

This keyboard offers a comprehensive feature set. Aura Sync RGB illumination allows for customization with a wide range of colors, configurable through the Armoury Crate software. ROG SpeedNova wireless technology provides users with three connection options: Bluetooth, wired USB, and 2.4 GHz RF wireless for low latency. A multi-function switch with an interactive touch panel graces the back of the keyboard, offering control over volume, media playback, and lighting effects.

If you’ve already used ROG wireless keyboards before, then you might have already encountered the ROG Omni Receiver. But in case you haven’t, it’s the keyboard’s USB dongle that lets you connect one compatible keyboard and one compatible ROG mouse at the same time. This is handy if you have limited USB ports and you want to quickly connect two peripherals.

The ROG Falchion RX Low Profile’s maybe slim and compact but its features make it a great addition to any comprehensive work-and-play setup. It doesn’t take up a lot of deskspace, lets you connect to multiple devices via Bluetooth, built-in touch controls for more convenience. Lastly, it looks good. It’s perfect for those who want a clean, minimalist build but with attractive RGB to make it stand out.

The ROG Falchion RX Low Profile has an SRP of PHP 8,580 but can be had for less than PHP 8K at ROG’s official Shopee Mall. See the listing here — https://s.shopee.ph/LSPXytb18
