HONOR X6a

Date

The HONOR X6a is one of the newest releases of HONOR Philippines. It’s an entry-level smartphone but with features normally found in mid-range devices, giving users more value for their money.

The HONOR X6a features a 6.56-inch screen with HD+ (1612 x 720) resolution. It’s a decent resolution, even for the screen size, as the pixels are not that noticeable. The colors are good, but the viewing angles are not exactly consistent because of the noticeable dimming when you tilt the screen slightly. The bezels are also not as thin as the ones found on the HONOR 90 Lite 5G. What’s amazing, though, is that HONOR managed to put a 90Hz refresh for some smooth animation and transitions.

Quality-wise, the X6a feels sturdy and a bit premium for something that is mostly made of plastic. The back panel also sports this textured speckled finish that resembles the night sky, which is appropriate for its Midnight Black colorway (the other color is Sky Silver).

The X6a also has the usual ports, such as USB-C and a 3.5mm audio jack. There are no stereo speakers, but it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. There’s dual SIM, but the microSD card slot is shared with the SIM 2 slot.

For the cameras, we have three of them — a 50MP main, 2MP depth, and a 2MP macro. For the front camera, we have a 5MP. These cameras can take decent pictures, especially in bright conditions. However, it can be slow when shooting indoors, resulting in images that can be slightly blurred. Even worse in low light.

Powering the HONOR X6a is a MediaTek Helio G36 chipset with 4GB RAM and 128GB of storage. It’s not exactly the configuration that you’d want if you’re a mobile gamer, but it should be enough if you’re into social media. The 5,200mAh battery with 22.5W fast charging will also ensure it lasts a long time between charges.

The HONOR X6a PHP 6,990. It’s a nice budget device if you want something that has a 90Hz refresh rate, a 50MP main camera, and a big battery.
