Creative is calling the Stage Air V2 a soundbar, but it’s so compact and light that it might as well be a portable Bluetooth speaker. It looks like most soundbars but shorter. Even with its simple design, it looks great. It has a metal grill on the front, glossy plastic at the top, and a matte finish on the sides. It has foam feet at the bottom to minimize desk vibrations.
On the side, we have buttons for the power, volume, and Bluetooth pairing. The volume buttons feel like soft rubber, while the Bluetooth button is hard plastic. Just press and hold the power button for a few seconds, and the Creative Stage Air V2 will switch on and notify you that it’s ready for pairing via an audible and a tiny Bluelight on the front.
It uses Bluetooth 5.3, and all you need to do is open your device’s Bluetooth settings and pair from there. If wireless is not your thing, you can connect your devices via USB-C or 3.5mm audio jack.
Speaker quality is good for its size and price. It’s loud enough that we don’t exceed 40% volume for casual desk listening and has the right amount of bass. We’re satisfied with its performance, whether just watching videos on YouTube, watching Netflix, or playing games. And since it’s portable, we can easily take it with us and place it where we need it, whether the desk or the bedroom, for some relaxing music.
Another thing we like about the Creative Stage Air V2 is it’s battery-powered. Unlike traditional soundbars that you need to keep plugged, this one is capable of up to 6 hours of playback. If you want to move it around, you can easily do so, and you won’t have to worry about an adapter.
