Lenovo introduced its latest line-up of Yoga laptops a few months ago, designed for users looking for a machine for creative purposes like photo and video editing. One of them is the Yoga Pro 7i (Gen 8), a Windows 11 Pro laptop with a 14.5-inch display and powered by up to Intel Core i7-13700H CPU and NVIDIA RTX 4050 GPU.
The Yoga Pro 7i is clad in durable aluminum chassis, which Lenovo says has been certified to military-grade standards. True enough, it feels premium and sturdy. We personally like the curved sides of the lower body as it reminds us of the curvature of the older iPhone modes. The lid, on the other hand, has flatter edges. When closed, the difference in their shapes gives a more dynamic look. It has a compact footprint for a 14.5-inch laptop and will easily slide in and out of your backpack with its 0.61-inch thickness.
The screen uses an IPS panel with 3072 x 1920 resolution, 100% DCI-P3 color gamut, and 120Hz refresh rate. We can even tilt the screen up to 180 degrees. The bezels are slim, so it looks like you’re getting more screen real estate. Placed above the screen is the 1080p webcam with IR for Windows Hello and an e-shutter, which can be activated with a physical switch.
The keyboard is backlit with two brightness levels and has an anti-grease coating. On its sides are stereo speakers that are optimized with Dolby Atmos. Below the keyboard is the buttonless multi-touch touchpad with a glass surface.
We enjoyed using the Yoga Pro 7i, given its size and weight (1.49 kg), and it gives the impression that we can work anywhere we want. The matte screen is accurate for photo and video editing and has good viewing angles. Combined with the loudspeakers, we also used it to watch our favorite series or movies on popular streaming sites. Performance shouldn’t be an issue given the CPU and GPU, and can most certainly play games in their moderate graphics settings. In addition, it has up to 32GB RAM, 1TB SSD, and 73Wh battery.
As for the price, it starts at PHP 102,995 (14″ 3K 120Hz | i7-13700H | 16GB | 1TB G4 | RTX4050 | H&S 2021 | 3Y Premium Care + 3Y ADP), which is a bit on the pricey side but it’s a solid device for any professional looking for a reliable workhorse.
